ETS 4406 Static Decay Meter


The ETS Model 4406 Static Decay Meter, which replaced the previous generation Model 406, meets the requirements for static charge dissipation and static decay rate testing as required by DOD, NFPA, ESDA, INDA, EIA, CECC and other North American, European Union and Asian test specifications. A variety of electrode configurations are available which enable the static dissipative characteristics of film, fabric, foam, powder, loose fill, plastic, glass, paper, liners, formed parts (non-flat), nonwovens, bags, mats, cellulose, carriers, tote boxes, dispensing equipment, garments, tables, consumer products, seating, flooring and many other materials to be evaluated for electrostatic characterization.

The Model 4406 can be used for static decay analysis in R&D (Research & Development), QC (Quality Control) and other applications to test materials where static electricity can impact performance, production, manufacturing, handling, appearance, safety and personnel comfort.

ETS 406D Static Decay Meter (Discontinued)


The ETS 406D Static Decay Meter meets the requirements for static charge dissipation and static decay rate testing as required by DOD, NFPA, ESDA, INDA and EIA test specs. A wide variety of electrode configurations are available which enable the static dissipative characteristics of film, flat plaques, IC carriers, tote boxes, garments, tabletop and flooring material and storage systems to be evaluated.

The system may be used for static decay analysis in both development and QC applications to test material where static electricity can effect production, handling, performance or appearance.

DAIEI Static Honest Meter


Static Honest Meter is a measuring instrument for attenuation of static electricity, most appropriate for investigating the diffusibility of static.

This device is used to electrify the specimen by irradiating it by air ions generated by corona discharges initiated by the device, and then, after the irradiation is stopped, it is used to investigate the decay curve of the charge on the specimen.

﹣Applied on JIS L1049-1980 Electrostatic Propensity Testing Method for woven fabric and knitted work.

﹣By selecting the polarity and applied voltage for corona discharge, it is possible to electrify the specimen with either positive or negative charge. It is also possible to change the voltage value.

﹣Without any friction, no damages will be caused to the specimen, and accurate and repeated measurement is possible.

﹣Compared with the friction electrification or direct voltage applying electrification methods, the corona discharge method has excellent reproducibility, making it possible to compare the specimen with those of other methods.

﹣All specimens in sheet form, such as films, board, thread, cloth, carpet, or glass panes, can be subjected to measurement by using this device.

Analyzer is an analyzing and computing unit which can automatically compute the half-life period of voltage decay from the static decay carve obtained from the host meter.

By connecting the analyzer and the honest meter together, it is possible to measure the attenuation of materials automatically in one-touch action.
